Cedar, MI – Ryan Thompson, Owner & Lead Fabricator for TRF has joined Dodge for the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2020. Ryan fabricated a 2020 Dodge SRT Charger Hellcat Widebody Concept to compete this year in colaboration with Wesley Motorsport. Other partners for this program would include Bilstein & TOYO Tires.
The one-off concept vehicle will be competing in the Exhibition class of the 97th running of this legendary event this week, where Ryan Thompson has joined the team as support on the mountain. Dodge cut no corners to bring this specially tuned, supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® V-8 engine which delivers best-in-class 797 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. Putting power to the ground is a crisp-shifting TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission with SRT-developed high-performance calibration.
Ryan’s role in this build was not only to create a roll cage inside to keep professional driver, Randy Pobst, safe. But do all of the necessary chassis prep for the FIA spec roll cage. Once completed, Ryan fabricated the fuel cell, seat mounts, bulkheads, and more.
